Say “goodbye” to Cheeseburger and Taco Night flavored Pringles! Procter & Gamble Co. has been forced to recall these two versions of their Pringles chips. According to federal authorities, salmonella was found on Basic Food’s processing equipment, where P&G gets its flavor-enhancing hydrolyzed vegetable protein for their products. Even though there haven’t been any recorded illnesses due to the consumption of these chips, one has to wonder if they are the cause for other related viruses. It is scary enough to think that millions of people around the world consume processed food daily, leading to obesity and other chronic illnesses; but the fact that they could also contain certain viruses is really something to think about. Hopefully this scare won’t go unnoticed and people will begin to realize the dangers of eating processed foods!
