Better Air Quality = Less Ear Infections

Recently I read an article that spoke of a survey about the link between air improvements, and ear infections in children, also known as otitis media.   The  survey  cross referenced data of ear infections from the years 1997-2006 with data of air quality over the same time period.  Their conclusion was that as air quality improved cases of otitis medis decreased in number.  They attributed this to the Clean Air Act of 1990 which they said was finally showing its long term benefits.  We all know that fresh air is good for us but here we have direct evidence of its benefits.  If cleaner air can have such an impact on ear infections what else is pollution doing to us that we don’t know about? – Esteban

Here is a link to the article, i highly reccomend the site for daily science news-
